Jacques Barzun : 1907 – 2012 : In Memoriam — 2 Comments
Am I reading that right? If I am, it says, “with warm thanks for his music, both the moving structures of sound and the means of hearing them.”
And is it a good guess that this refers both to your compositions and to your recordings?
I ask because I am a great admirer of Jacques B. myself, and he quite successfully persuaded me of Berlioz’ significance decades ago.
Thanks.
Hello Christopher,
Jacques Barzun, forever the gentleman, was just being kind and gracious with his comments about my music. I posted his words only as a modest personal acknowledgement of his passing.
Thank you,
Michael Mehl
